Support for Students at the CBE
Our students’ success is our top priority and we understand that our students live complex lives and that many factors both in school and outside of school can affect their ability to learn. The CBE offers a variety of services (such as Culture and Linguistic Support, Exceptional and Special Needs, and Psychological Services) to support students, their families and our school, so students can be successful learners.
We are excited to welcome students to the 2026-2027 school year at John G. Diefenbaker High School. Student timetables will be visible in PowerSchool at 9 am on Monday, August 17.
The Course Change Request Form will also be available at 9am on Monday, August 17 until 3 pm on Tuesday, August 25. Please access the form using the link below. Please note, we will not change options or courses at this time unless they are one of the reasons below:
- Missing prerequisite (Example - you are registered in Bio 30 but did not do Bio 20)
- Summer school update (Example - you took a summer school course and need to update a course)
- Incorrect sequence (Example - BIO 30 is scheduled before BIO 20)
- Imbalanced Timetable (Example - you have all 4 cores in one semester or too many options in one semester)
- Incomplete Timetable (Example - you are missing courses that were requested)
If your request does not meet the above criteria, you will be called down by grade to Student Services once all students have a completed timetable, usually the second or third day of classes. ** We will not make changes for teacher requests or specific period requests.
Please note that counsellors will not be responding to emails/calls about course requests - as there is a high volume of requests at this time, advisors will only be responding to requests through the Course Change Request Form. Counsellors will start working on the changes on Thursday, August 20 and updates will be reflected in Powerschool as they are completed.
